Growing up in South Philadelphia, just two blocks from both the Italian Market and the Fashion District, known as East Passyunk Avenue, Chef Jacquie developed a deep appreciation for the art of cooking and being exposed to women in business.

Chef Jacquie’s culinary education started from birth, both of her parents were exceptional cooks. The family then relocated to Bologna, her father’s birthplace, when she was only three. Her palate and appreciation for Italian food was enhanced during those four years. She experienced various gastronomic wonders, never experiencing the same dish twice. Through observation of her grandmother, Jacquie discovered the art of planning a meal, shopping and then creating that meal – not eating the same meal twice. From handcrafted tortellini, savoring polenta adorned with an abundance of delectable toppings, relishing the finest balsamic vinegar, and tasting the most authentic bolognese ragout, this set the stage for her deep affinity for Italian food.

Her early culinary adventures continued as the family relocated to the Abruzzo region, her mother’s birthplace, when she turned ten. During that one year, she once again found herself immersed in the gustatory delights of Italy, savoring the exquisite flavors of porchetta, long hots, and provolone cheese. If that sounds like a roast pork sandwich, that is correct! This famous Philly sandwich has deep roots in Italy. Mangia!

Having trained at the prestigious Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, Chef Jacquie is a consummate professional dedicated to delivering a premier gastronomic adventure through her Philadelphia food tours. Her expertise and warm and engaging personality create an unforgettable experience transcending mere dining.
