Holy Moly! Did you overdo it this holiday season like I did? One thing’s for sure, I ate a LOT of carbs! I drank a little more than I should have and I ate my weight in cheese….mmm.

With that said, it’s January, which is the month of cleaning up our act (at least for a month, anyway 😉 It seems like everyone is on a mission to get healthy, eat better and stick to a strict diet. Luckily for you, dear readers, I’m here to help you make a few easy switches and swaps in your recipes that can keep you eating healthy all year long!

Here are my Top 5 Healthy Swaps for a Delicious Year of Eating Light & Dining Right:

1.) Try this unusual swap in place of juice!

Chef Yolanda at Cardena’s Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar Taproom recommends add 1 ounce of their white balsamic vinegar to a quart of water instead of juice for a less sugary way to flavor your water. Can you imagine the delicious possibilities? I’m thinking peach vinegar with club soda or pear vinegar water. Or, you could get a little fancy and mix it up in a cocktail and use a sprig of Rosemary like you would a shrub. How divine does a peach, rosemary and gin cocktail sound for those cold days when we’re wishing for summer! And even though it’s booze, at least it’s on the lighter side.

2.) Shake up healthy eating with a “milkshake!”

Try a skinny version of a classic milkshake. It’s so rich and creamy, the only thing you’ll miss is the fat and calories!

3.) Lighten up the comfort foods on those cold winter days

4.) Look for easy and simple options, guilt free snacks and drinks?

5.) Need a little more inspiration to get cooking?
